Original and custom effects pedals and musical instrument electronics, lovingly and meticulously designed, handmade, hand-painted and hand-wired by Neil R. Grimes in England.
I guess it was inevitable that I'd end up designing and hand-making effects pedals, as it so perfectly brings together all my passions, obsessions, skills and experiences.
I love the magical interplay between the creative and the technical, the inspiration and the craft, and how they influence each other. This clearly lies behind everything I do and have ever pursued, including working as a live and studio musician and songwriter, alongside being a fully trained and experienced luthier and musical instrument technician. This has led to me performing and working on many stages across the world and being involved in a wide range of studio recordings with lots of great musicians and technicians, working on musical instruments and gear setups for countless professional and discerning musicians and then utilising my technical skills and expertise to enable other performing musicians on tour.
Today finds me settled down in the East Sussex countryside in England with my beautiful little family, beavering and geeking away in the workshop creating original and custom musical electronics to enable and inspire other musicians.
I strive to create and build original pedals with the highest level of quality, attention to detail, originality and versatility. But my absolute number one goal has to be providing a tone, feel and experience that is musically inspiring, gratifying and enables creativity.
I really, really care about my work and the service I provide for professional and discerning musicians, so every individual pedal is very thoughtfully and carefully designed, handmade, hand-painted and hand-wired using premium quality components. Nothing leaves my workshop until it meets my exacting standards.
I am proud to also offer an extra personal service where I can offer customisations and additions to my original pedals, design custom hand-painted graphics, or maybe even work with you to create something totally unique and custom from the ground up.
